About the Box Design:
Prepare to unleash your creativity at the Parkersburg Sleepout! It’s time to construct a
cardboard “home” that not only sheds light on youth homelessness and raises awareness but
also showcases creativity, uniqueness, provides shelter from the elements, and emanates a
sense of warmth.

Why create a team for the Annual Sleep Out?
It is a unique, fun and creative way to raise awareness and critical funding for our Transitional Living Program which helps to provide critical housing services to youth who are struggling with homelessness.
Because it brings our community together for an important cause, and helps youth know that not only are they seen, but also shows them that they matter to our city, and that inevitably we want to help them in any way we can to achieve their dreams and have the very best quality of life.
You have the chance to hear real life stories from young people whose lives were changed by this program and the support it provides. And we should also mention that the food and entertainment is some of the best in the MOV.
The cost per person to participate is $25. Registration fee includes food and drink throughout the evening, an event t-shirt and the chance to win trophies and prizes for the best boxed-in design.

This yearly event is a unique evening of raising awareness about local youth on our streets, and a boxed-in design competition to raise funds for our youth housing programs that assist youth who are experiencing homelessness to acquire stable housing, learn life skills and complete their educational and vocational goals.
