Group Leader

Parkersburg

Children’s Home Society of WV’s Parkersburg site is seeking candidates for a Group Leader position for an Afterschool Program at Jefferson Elementary Center. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, valid Driver’s License, available and reliable transportation, automobile insurance, a demonstrated ability to work with children and their families, and possess good communication and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have previous employment/experience in a licensed child care setting, ability to design and carry out activities for 4-5 year old preschool students, and elementary students. Primary job duties include supervision and mentoring of children, providing homework assistance and learning activities, leading and participating in recreation, craft and group activities. Other duties could include assisting in the agency’s Family Resource Center as needed. Must be available Monday – Friday between the hours of 1:00-6:00 p.m., for an average of 20-25 hours a week. Candidate must also pass CIB, FBI and abuse and neglect background checks. In order to assess communication skills, please submit a letter of interest as well as a resume. All candidates must be willing to abide by all mandates regarding COVID-19, including CDC guidelines, school board and CHS company policies.

Requirements for all jobs with CHS:

Applicant must pass FBI/CIB background checks as well as CPS/APS background checks.

Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
