Counseling Services
The Children’s Home Society offers individual and family counseling services to birth parents, adoptive parents, and adoptees. Our social workers have expertise in adoption and attachment issues, as well as areas that include blended families, school adjustment, transgender issues, and mental health.
We believe adoption is a life long commitment. Often adoptive parents may have questions on how to respond to their child about his or her adoption or may be seeking information about behavioral or health issues their child is experiencing. Adoptees may have questions about their birth parents or may want to speak to someone in an effort to gather more information. It is with the best interest of their child in mind that a birth parent chooses an adoption plan. The Society is here to assist them with this life changing decision. Our staff provides professional and confidential services through consultations, crisis intervention, assessment and referral.
