Boxed-In Design Contest Rules:
We want you to express what the Parkersburg SleepOut and/or Youth Homelessness means to YOU! Participants will design and construct a cardboard “home” that exhibits the following:
Theme regarding homelessness – Creativity – Warmth – Comfort – Livability
There will be a competition for teams participating in the Boxed–In Design Contest. Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded in two categories:
Best Design –Trophies go to the design that best represents the following criteria: creativity, warmth, comfort, and livability.
Best Theme –Trophies go to the design that best represents youth homelessness, promoting homeless awareness: the issues, available resources, a call to action, etc.

Judging will take place at approximately 8pm with the winners announced subsequently. Judging will be performed by celebrity judges from the community.
The following rules apply to materials used to build your box shelter:
Acceptable:
• Cardboard
• Props
• Sting or Rope
• Crayons
• Water-based Markers
• Paper
• Tape
• Aluminum Foil
• Chalk
• Battery powered lighting may be used for effect
Unacceptable:
• Paint of any kind
• Permanent Markers
• Wood
• Glue
• Large Staples

Please complete the registration form below by 5pm October 20, 2023. To pay your registration fee, checks can be sent to PO Box 763, Pakersburg, WV 26102 or you can pay online by using Network for Good link or our donate now paypal button.
(Participants/teams may enter the Boxed-In design contest after October 28th, but may not be eligible for contest prizes)
Donations to CHS may be made via credit card on-line through Network for Good or PayPal. These sites accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover and will forward your gift directly to CHS.
***When making a PayPal payment, please use the “Please add special instructions to seller” text box on your paypal page to notify us where you would like your contribution to be noted. i.e., location, program, fundraiser, etc, etc.***
